When it comes to fashion, the area of accessories is one that is not to be overlooked or taken lightly. In fact, attention to the right accessories can launch the name of any designer from obscurity into the limelight almost overnight; think particularly of Burberry and its line of fashion handbags.
Handbags are in fact probably one of the most obvious success lines when it comes to accessories. While clothing may come and go in terms of style, we are among the many who believe that a truly beautiful handbag will last forever; there is always room for the bulky and the petite, for the clutch and for the shoulder strap, and best of all there are colours to suit any outfits. Handbags are definitely one of our favourite accessories, and they have a practical side to boot! They are like the couches of clothes. Next up on our list of favourite accessories are, what else, shoes! Female fans of Sex and the City know that Carrie Bradshaw's shoe collection was the envy of every girl from teens up; there is nothing that communicates the mood of a girl quite as well as what she is wearing on her feet. And the line-up of shoe styles is virtually endless; and while you may not have the New York or Toronto real estate condo to house all of the footwear you desire, the many options are a budding designer's dream come true.
The fascination women have with shoes might not be easy to explain to a man, but most can at least sympathize when they think of the tie, the third in our list of fun accessories and the most likely to make it onto a man's list of accessories, should he think of these fun fashion additions at all. Ties are the perfect complement to any suit, and in fact may be one of the only articles of clothing that can set one man apart from another (in case you hadn't noticed, a lot of men's clothing tends to be sort of the same). Just as shoes with women, a man's tie can give anyone a clue as to personality and even mood, and there are different ties for any occasion, from work for those selling Mississauga homes for sale to a night out on the Danforth in Toronto.
Further in men's fashion, one of the big debates of the day revolves around whether or not the man's handbag is a viable idea. Certainly all the top designers would love to come up with an idea that is the male equivalent of the handbag, but so far there is not one to make a mark, at least with the majority of men. Though there are men who carry bags, maybe an architect who needs to carry around an array of house plans, nothing has become universal. And as we have stated, when it comes to fashion, the choices of most men tend to be the same; they want to get rid of those pain in the butt (literally!) wallets, but so far no one has been able to bag that market.
The list of accessory possibilities just goes on and one, and it is no wonder that most major designers invest a significant amount of time and resources into their accessory lines. Accessories are fun and in demand, and the category is so broad that there are limitless spaces to let your creative mind run free.
